From the mitten to the apple.
When I was a kid, my mom would buy me stacks and stacks of books. So, naturally, I stacked them. While other children were quietly turning pages, I was building architectural masterpieces, courtesy of Dr. Seuss. Not much has changed since then, though instead of building book castles I’m building ideas, relationships, websites, concepts and careers.
My experience spans from customized digital products for boutique innovation consultancies to multifaceted campaigns for large ad agencies. Having started out as a designer and UX/UI maven and working my way up to design director, I have been exposed firsthand to the entire creative process, soup to nuts. I understand the importance of research, strategy and vision, as well as the dynamics of managing a team. I’ve presented to clients at company meetings and new biz pitches, and to stakeholders at high-level evaluations. I get the big picture, but I also appreciate all the little pixels that bring it together.
As a native Detroiter and a recent New York transplant, I thrive in an environment where stakes are high and opportunity is what you make of it. If those Dr. S books taught me anything, it’s that “You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And you are the one who’ll decide where to go.”
I’m excited to see what the Big Apple has in store for me.
